    Latest News - Australian Felt Maker and Teacher Martien VanZuilen Coming to Halcyon Yarn

    WE ARE EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FOR THE $50.00 DISCOUNT FOR EACH OF MARTIEN'S CLASSES TO MAY 15. Don't miss an opportunity to learn from Martien VanZuilen. We're well acquainted with her remarkable teaching ability and the wonderful artistry of her work and with what a great time students have in her classes. Martien's visits are always filled with great fun and phenomenal learning experiences. She seamlessly accommodates different levels of abilities and expertise, allowing both advanced or less experienced felters to benefit from her classes. You will be able to work at your own speed and hone your skills while getting Martien's excellent guidance and suggestions to further develop your work. This year we're thrilled to offer the following classes:

    Multiple Resists & Repurposed Knitwear: Felt Adventures of the Irresistible Kind June 24-26, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM each day.

    Advanced Techniques in Hand-Felted Jewelry June 28-30, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM each day.

    Class fee for each class is $300.00, OR $250.00 if registered before May 15, 2012. To receive the discount use code MVZ2012. THAT'S A $50.00 DISCOUNT ON EACH CLASS! Class fee does not include a small materials fee to be paid directly to the instructor. A list of additional materials and equipment will be sent upon registration.     In addition to our wide range of classes, Halcyon Yarn offers weekly opportunities to enjoy good company while you knit and spin.

    Evening Spin Share with Denice Sharpe, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm the 1st Thursday of each month. Bring your wheel and enjoy spinning, exchanging new ideas and learning with old friends and new. Free of charge. This class meets in our 3rd floor classroom.

    The Tuesday Twisted Spinners meet in our classroom every Tuesday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Bring your wheel, some fiber, and lunch. There is no charge, no reservation needed, and all levels of spinning skills are welcome!

    Monday nights, Halcyon Yarn hosts a Sit 'n Knit Group. We meet from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and knitters of all experience level are welcome! It's an informal, relaxing evening with no reservations needed, and no charge.

    Weave Share with Michael Patterson runs March through December on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Bring your ideas and questions, or just join us for a monthly chat about weaving. A great place to share your latest project, get tips from Michael and others, and share some good company with other weavers.

    Cancellation Policy:
    Cancellation must be made 2 weeks prior to class to receive your full payment back, and 4 weeks for Special Attractions. Those cancellations made after that time will receive only 50% of the payment back. Failure to show for a class without notification will result in loss of full payment. If we must cancel a class it will be done one week prior to class and your full payment will be returned. A list of materials and any preparatory work will be sent upon registration.
