Cultural and Textile Fun in Bath, Maine
This coming weekend, March 1-2 2014, our great city of Bath, Maine will be holding its 3rd Annual Japanese Celebration Weekend. This exciting event is sponsored by the Bath-Tsugaru sister city exchange program. It’s a weekend full of great events for families, children and adults. From hands-on activities such as an Ikebana class, Japanese fabric films and Bento boxes to entertainment with Bowdoin Taiko and a gardening presentation, there is something for everyone.
There are 3 events we thought our Halcyon Yarn customers might find of particular interest. All 3 events will be held at the Hampton Inn, 140 Commercial St, Bath. On Saturday March 1st there is a discussion and demonstration, “The Art of the Kimono” from 1-2pm and on Sunday March 2nd, there will be 2 Japanese fabric films “Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori: 400 Years 1608-2008” from 1-3pm and “Blue Alchemy: Stories of Indigo” from 3:30-5:30.
