Every year The New England Textile Arts Network (NETA) hosts an annual Spa Knit and Spin Retreat at the Hilton Garden Inn and Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine. This informal event is a group of passionate fiber folks (members and non-members) who gather together one weekend in the winter to enjoy each others company, spa treatments, shopping, great food & drink and general all around fiber delights. No fees, no agendas, no workshops – just fibery relaxation and good fun with a few extra attractions thrown in for good measure.
Imagine hotel lobbies filled with knitters knitting and spinners spinning (with both drop spindles and wheels). It’s quite a site to behold. Oh, and who wouldn’t love a special Fiber Market Place with 20 local and regional craftspeople. Did we mention a fashion show? Check out all the details at NETA’s blog.
