Halcyon Yarn's Signature Botanica wool yarn is a unique 100% wool yarn for knitters and weavers. Botanica’s lush and vibrant color palette is a favorite for knitting, felting and weaving. The hard to find colors make it especially interesting for knitting intarsia and fair isle designs. The unique spiraled 2-ply twist creates a distinctive yarn with a shadowed or corded appearance that looks fantastic in every stitch and lends great texture and definition to any piece. Worsted spun from a special quality wool for exceptional shine, luster and durability with a soft and springy hand, Botanica worsted wool is far less likely to pill than other Comparable yarns. Botanica is a little more dense, with fewer yards per pound than a standard worsted weight yarn so you will need to add an extra 25-30% yarn by weight or purchase comparable yardages. Felted knitting made with Botanica has a wonderfully pebbled texture and an elegant “finished” look that does not "pill" easily, making it outstanding for outerwear.

Weavers: Botanica is stretchy so when winding your warp, add at least 10-20% extra to the length because the warp will shorten considerably when tension is released. When weaving, always release the warp tension before measuring the picks of your weft, otherwise it will be inaccurate. The smoothness of Botanica makes densely warped double weave a snap. Botanica's smooth texture combines beautifully with mohair or bouclé making those yarns easier to use in weaving.

Care: Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry.
