About: Silky Wool

Soft, luxurious yet tweedy and earthy, Elsebeth Lavold's Silky Wool is suitable for glamorous designs as well as casual garments. It has an interesting and delicate surface itself, while at the same time it shows cables and comlex stitch patterns exquisitely well. Although she designs for Knitters, crocheters and weavers should definitely give the ever so slightly textured Silky Wool a try. As a weaver I'd feel very comfortable with this in either warp or weft for clothing and accessory fabrics. The nubby subtle tweed will be beautiful and the hand will be supple but you should allow for a slight fulling for the best finished product. Consider pairing with Harrisville Shetland or Victorian 2-ply (one a little finer the other a little heavier) Crochethers, consider extravagant exploded lace doilies for hats and clothing with this shape holding beauty.
