hi: in your Easy Cowl pattern calling for super bulky using size 15 needles, what size needles would I use using worsted (aran) weight yarn?

    thanks

Good question! We recommend a US size #7, #8, or #9 for worsted/Aran weight yarn. The smaller the needle the tighter the stitch and the more stitches per inch, the larger the needle the larger the stitch. So if you knit tightly you might go with the larger needle, and vice versa.

Often the yarn you are using will note the recommended needle size on the label.

If you want to be sure you’re knitting to gauge we always recommend knitting a four inch swatch first in the yarn you plan to use. Every yarn is a little different because of the fiber and twist so to get gauge you may want to adjust up or down a needle size.

Hope this helps, feel free to reach out if we can do anything else for you. Happy knitting!
