Join us for Needle Felting and Rigid Heddle classes!

It’s been an exciting week at Halcyon Yarn! We can feel the shift as people prepare for all of their Holiday projects. I love to guess what’s being made… maybe hats? Maybe tablecloths? Perhaps a felted critter or two? We have a few highlights to help get those creative juices flowing. Maybe it’s time to treat yourself and take a break with a class. Or you might know a fellow fiber artist who would appreciate the gift of learning something new or honing their skills. Either way we can help!

Introduction to Rigid Heddle is an easy and fun introduction to weaving! Join us on December 9-10 for a two-day class where you will learn to warp the loom, practice basic weaving techniques, and discover some ‘tricks’ to fully use the rigid heddle’s range of weaving possibilities. The looms are portable, easy to set up, light weight, and affordable. This is a wonderfully simple way to begin weaving, and to explore color and texture. If the December class doesn’t work… don’t worry! There will another class offered January 28th and 29th, 2017!

Some pre-holiday fun will be had on December 18th with back-to-back Needle Felted Sheep and Needle Felted Santa Claus classes. Join Romney Ridge owner, shepherdess, and fiber artist, Kelly Dodge, as she teaches classes featuring two of her wonderful needle felting kits. Take just one or take both and spend the day creating whimsical little sculptures. The Santa Claus class does require some prior needle felting experience – which is covered in the morning Sheep class – why not take both!
