New Horizontal Swift/Skein Winder

If you’re use to a traditional vertical swift, you’re going to love the Lacis  [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] . It’s a workhorse that does double duty. It easily expands to hold skeins of yarn for winding into balls, onto cones or bobbins, as well as directly onto ski and stick shuttles. The preferred horizontal position automatically positions the yarn at the center of the skein when using a ball winder. If you need to wind your yarn into a skein for dyeing or washing, the horizontal swift/skeiner is your tool of choice too. It also allows you to create a skein directly from your spinning wheel. Simply make a loop of cord the desired circumference of your skein, place it over the swift/skeiner, expand and tighten, attach your yarn and start cranking the handle.  It’s a breeze.
