Weaving of the Southwest Weaving Book

This book is an extensive survey of Navajo, Pueblo, Rio Grande and Northern Mexican weaving. Traditional and modern styles of blankets, clothing and rugs are explained in detail with brief accounts of some of the trading posts that sold them. There are hundreds of carefully documented pictures, historical details, and discussions with weavers still plying their craft today. The author, a curator at Maxwell Museum in New Mexico, has worked extensively with the weavers, helping to pass skills and designs of their past to a new generation.
