Intro to Rigid Heddle Weaving
Instructor: Sherry Cochran. Meets on: Saturday and Sunday, August 26-27, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm, 2 days.
Rigid heddle weaving is an easy and fun introduction to weaving. The looms are portable, easy to set up, light weight, and affordable. This is a wonderfully simple way to begin weaving and to explore color and texture. In this introductory level rigid heddle weaving class you will learn to warp the loom, practice basic weaving techniques, and discover some 'tricks' to fully use the rigid heddle's range of weaving possibilities.
This is a beginner class: no weaving experience is necessary.
Students need to bring a rigid heddle loom in good working order, or arrange to rent one. We recommend bringing note taking materials and a lunch. Weaving materials are provided and included in the class fee.
