Intro to Rigid Heddle Weaving
Instructor: Gretchen Jaeger. Meets on: Saturday and Sunday, October 28 & 29, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm, 2 days.
Rigid heddle weaving is an easy and fun introduction to weaving. The looms are portable, easy to set up, light weight, and affordable. This is a wonderfully simple way to begin weaving and to explore color and texture. In this introductory level rigid heddle weaving class you will learn to warp the loom and practice basic weaving techniques. Students will work on a table runner, which will allow for the opportunity to learn the basics and trouble shoot any issues that may arise with a first project.
This is a beginner class: no weaving experience is necessary.
Students need to bring a rigid heddle loom in good working order, or arrange to rent one. We recommend bringing note taking materials and a lunch. Weaving materials are provided and included in the class fee.
