Author: Michael Patterson
Show off with a week of baby bibs. Weave 7 baby bibs and have your favorite baby look great. An overshot baby bib does it in style. A simple
4 shaft pattern can be treadled numerous ways to create many designs on one warp. This is a great stash buster project.
Finished size 7¾–8¼” x 8–9”. Sett: EPI 20
A three yard warp makes seven finished bibs. Your warp only needs to be 9.5 " wide, making this a quick and fun project for trying out overshot. Size 8" X 11" finished. Just two mini cones Homestead Cotton (600 yds each) are enough for the tabby weave. For the colorful pattern wefts use up thrums of Pearl Cotton, Embroidery Floss, or any machine washable fingering or DK weight yarn (yarn weights 2 or 3).
The project can easily be adapted to create dish towels or a small runner by making the piece longer and weaving the overshot pattern at either end. With easy-care cottons you can throw these in the washer and dryer and they'll still look great.
