The Louët S-17 Treadle Spinning Wheel offers an excellent entry point for spinners on a budget without sacrificing quality. Crafted from solid, unlacquered beech hardwood, it features smooth ball bearing operation and effortless treadling for a balanced, comfortable experience. Designed originally for medium to heavy yarns, the wheel has been updated to better accommodate fine to medium yarns, with a 12.5 mm orifice and bobbins holding 180–250 grams, ideal for creating novelty yarns.

Equipped with three bobbins, a lazy kate, and a standard flyer, it includes a single-belt bobbin drive with an adjustable flyer brake and three-speed whorl settings for versatile spinning. The S-17’s modular design allows you to expand your capabilities by adding specialized flyers and bobbins as your skills advance.

This kit requires assembly and finishing, giving you the freedom to customize the wood with lacquer, stain, or wax. Perfect for beginners ready to grow into expert spinners.
