Weldons was a paper-pattern company that would go on to become one of the most recognized needlework publishers in Victorian England who in an effort to bring various forms of needlework to a then-emerging middle class, began publishing patterns and instructions for needlework projects. Unlike magazines available at the time, which ran one or two needlework projects in an issue filled with other editorial, including fiction, recipes, poetry, and housekeeping hints, these new publications were devoted solely to needlework.
