A slew of new magazines…
A slew of new magazines have just arrived! Ready for some inspiration? Hot off the presses, and perfect with a mug of hot cider…
pompom
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] continues to delight us with wonderful photography and elegant projects, as well as a beautiful illustrated story, and even a delicious cocktail recipe! We’re eager to try the Alula shawl, above, by Clare Lakewood. It would work beautifully in either the JaggerSpun Maine Line 2/8 Yarn or the JaggerSpun Heather 2/8 Yarn.
We’d also love to make the Cesium pullover above in Lamb's Pride Worsted Yarn or Moonshine by Juniper Moon Farm Yarn. Plus, for those of you planning a holiday cocktail party – there’s a great recipe for negronis. pompom transports me to a world of knits and friends where everything is beautiful, welcoming and made with care. Just what we need as the days get shorter!
Handwoven
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] is here and it’s always our go-to for what to weave next. These two 8-shaft projects especially appealed to me! The Royal Holiday Runner, above, made in 10/2 Pearl Cotton Yarn would be an incredibly elegant adornment for your holiday table.
For some intriguing numerical noodling, why not try the Fibonacci Rep Runner? Meridith Entingh’s mind-bending patterns really pop in a combination of 3/2 Pearl Cotton Yarn and the Medium Cotton 16/8 Mop Yarn .
Want some help with your weaving? Halcyon Yarn has been “the weaver’s friend” since 1971. We are always happy to help you find exactly what you need for all your weaving adventures!
Love of Knitting
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] has something for everyone. The past year has seen some changes to the magazine and I have to say, the response has been great! The projects tend to be on the simpler and more affordable side, making it a perfect guide for those who are learning or who want an approachable, fun piece that won’t be too complicated to make. There are great introductory techniques, this month I especially like the feature on adapting a pattern from having seams, to a seamless construction. After meeting the editor, the lovely Deborah Gerrish, last summer, I can promise you there is some great creative energy behind Love of Knitting!

This Winter Wonderland Aran sweater, by Melissa Leapman, is something I’d wear year after year so it would be worth the effort! We’d love to see it in the Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed Yarn, or for something more rustic, in the Lettlopi (Lite Lopi) Icelandic Wool Yarn.
Knits
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] will make you want to bundle up and find your closest speakeasy with a collection of very classic designs for men and women in the Whiskey & Wool feature. We especially like the longer length of the very easy to knit Killarney Tunic, by Sarah Solomon. It would look and feel amazing in the [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] !
Vogue Knitting
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] is especially noteworthy for highlighting the continued trend for super chunky pieces. We’ve had several people going big, whether it is the more moderate chunky cowls, or the enormous roving knit blankets. Check out the hard to miss statement pieces, and look for more BIG stuff from us soon…
