Hosted by NETA (New England Textile Arts), the weekend of activities features a fashion show of hand made items, lots of great fiber people, and a chance to shake off the cabin fever!

SPA Knit and Spin – Freeport, Maine 2019
This is the 16th annual gathering of fiber art friends from across New England and beyond. Please come when you can, leave when you must, and thoroughly enjoy this unstructured day or weekend.
February 22nd to 24th, 2019 in Freeport, Maine. SPA Knit and Spin XVI is open to the public and admission is FREE to all.
WHERE to Knit, Spin, Crochet, Weave, Teach or Hang Out with friends, old and new:
At the HARRASEEKET INN: Casco Bay Ballroom, Merrymeeting and Sasanosa Rooms all weekend, plus all hours in lobbies, corners, nooks and other cozy spaces throughout the Inn.
At the HILTON GARDEN INN: Old Town Hall, which is adjacent to the hotel. Hours for the Old Town Hall are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the Old Town Hall is available from 8 a.m. to noon. The lobby, corners, nooks and other cozy spaces throughout the Inn are available at all hours Friday through Sunday.
At the HAMPTON INN:In the lobby all weekend.
*****All meeting rooms in all three hotels are furnished with chairs and tables for teaching/learning sessions, and other meet-ups.*****
Shuttle Service – More information about the free shuttle service between the hotels will be coming in a separate communication.
BE A GOOD CITIZEN TO THE INNS AND YOUR FELLOW SPA GOERS. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR WHEELS OR OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS IN THE HOTEL COMMON SPACES. The hotel staff needs to clean these areas at night. DO NOT “SAVE” YOUR SEAT WHEN YOU ARE AWAY IN YOUR ROOM OR SHOPPING WITH THE VENDORS. Lobby spaces are limited, and everyone would like an opportunity to enjoy these common areas.
FASHION SHOW – This special event is held in the Casco Bay Ballroom of the Harraseeket Inn on Saturday from 5 p.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m. YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET TO ATTEND THE FASHION SHOW!! TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE, FREE OF CHARGE, ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS VIA EVENTBRITE.com, beginning 7 p.m. Sunday January 27, 2018. Email notices will be sent out before January 27th to remind you . No tickets will be available until the EventBrite site opens.Only 250 tickets are available in order to keep attendance at a number in compliance with the fire codes for the ballroom. You can reserve up to two tickets per email address (in two separate orders), but must provide the names of both people in the ticket orders. If you do not get a ticket, you may join the waiting line outside the Casco Bay Ballroom doors.******IF YOU ARE NOT TRULY PLANNING TO ATTEND, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A TICKET!*****
Please be advised that chairs for the fashion show will be taken from all over the hotel. If you are sitting on a chair that is needed for the fashion show, please be a good citizen of SPA and vacate your chair. Not having a chair to sit in for a short spell may not be pleasant, but this cannot be helped. We will open the doors to the Fashion Show as soon as possible so you can take a seat. Thank you in advance for your good-natured cooperation!
GREETER TABLE – located at the Hilton Garden Inn in the foyer adjoining the Eagle Jewel Ballroom. This is the place to drop off donated items for charity, find out the schedule of SPA events, vendor hours and general information.
SPA MERCANTILE – Vendor hours are Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.. All vendors are located at the Hilton Garden Inn Jewel Ballroom as well as in the small board room that is adjacent to the Greeters’ Table.
CHAIR MASSAGES – Ease your knitting, spinning, shopping aches and pains with a delicious chair massage offered by professional massage therapist, Daniel Blekkenk. He will be located in the Hilton vending area. His services are available during the same hours as the vendors’ hours.
SKILL SHARING & LEARNING – open and free to all. Sign up on the designated easel at the Greeters’ Table area at the Hilton if you would like to teach or learn a skill. All skill sharing and learning is offered by SPA goers. There are no structured SPA workshops.
BUY, TRADE, SELL – If you have used equipment you would like to buy, trade, or sell, you can let SPA-goers know by posting a notice on the designated easel at the Greeters’ Table area at the Hilton. Be sure to include contact information and specifics. This is for used items only. All new merchandise to be sold only in the vendor room by sanctioned SPA vendors.
FREE TABLES – Located in the greeter area of the Hilton as well as in the Casco Bay Ballroom at the Harraseeket. Drop off used patterns, books, yarns, fiber-related tools, etc. to be picked up and enjoyed by someone else. PLEASE, NO ITEMS OF CLOTHING!
SPA FAIRIES AND RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS – Anyone wanting to sprinkle a little SPA magic can bestow a new or like-new fiber related gift on anyone!! These unexpected gifts are called “Random Acts of Kindness” and automatically qualify you as a SPA Fairy! Gifts could include yarn, patterns, books of patterns, scented soap/lotion, sachets, pin cushions, knitting needles, crochet hooks, spindles, etc., etc. We encourage you to walk up to someone you do not know, introduce yourself, and present your gift!
