Description

Schacht's Hi-Lo drop spindles offer a well-balanced high-whorl and low-whorl drop spindle all in one. Available in three versatile sizes for a broad spectrum of spinning capabilities: 2" (1 ounce), 3" (1.8 ounces), and 4" (2.7 ounces).

As they say, it's the best of both whorls for drop spindles: each spindle has a brass hook at the top for high-whorl spinning and a notched/grooved shaft for low-whorl spinning. The spindles are made of hard maple.

  • The small spindle (2” whorl, 1 oz) is best for spinning very fine yarns. 
  • The medium spindle (3” whorl, 1.8 oz) is great for beginners, and for spinning lighter weight yarns.
  • The large spindle (4” whorl, 2.7 oz) is great for novice spinners and for spinning medium-sized yarns.
