Tencel yarn is absorbent and breathable like other natural fibers and can be used similarly to silk, bamboo or mercerized cotton. Tencel 8/2 is a great weight for a range of weaving projects from yardage for garments or upholstery to knitted accessories. Don’t let synthetic be a dirty word for this deluxe cellulose based fiber. Tencel yarn is soft, silky and very strong - wet or dry it's stronger than cotton. Enjoy the sheen, drape and rich colors for all your woven or lace projects.

Weavers: Tencel yarn can be used for both warp and weft or combined with a variety of other fine yarns. When looking for woven tencel project inspiration look for patterns calling for mercerized cotton or silk.

Knitters: You’ll love the drape of Tencel for sleek and soft lace weight shawls or paired with a cotton to add depth and sheen to a summer top. Test your gauge first - these yarns do not stretch!

8/2 Tencel yarn is available in 8 oz tubes or convenient 400 yard mini cones. Please note that our Tencel and our 8/2 or 16/2 Bamboo are available in many of the same colors.
