Our needle felting fiber is carded romney batts. The fiber is a bit more coarse than the fibers of the traditional breeds used in wet felting, such as merino. The romney needle felting fiber has a staple length of 2" - 3" and a micron count of 31 - 34 for dyed and white, natural grey and fawn are 38-40. This is advantageous in needle felting because coarser fiber is less likely to show holes. But don't limit its use to needle felting. It Can be used in traditional wet felting. Just be aware the finished felt will be more rustic in appearance. The fiber is packaged in 1/4 lb bags.

It's no wonder Wensleydale wool fiber is a favorite among spinners. With such wonderful characteristics as lustrous sheen and smooth long locks it makes incredible yarn. The average staple length ranges from 8–12 inches. It is well suited for spinning from the fold or you can simply pre-draft and spin. Since Wensleydale has a tendency to spin into a fairly dense yarn, you may want to blend it with a crimpier wool top. Yarns spun from Wensleydale wear extremely well, making it a logical choice for items that get heavy use, such as socks and mittens. Also great for hair and beards on needle felted “characters“.
