Léttlopi (Lite Lopi) Icelandic Wool Yarn

This beautiful 100% Icelandic wool is the lighter weight version of the classic Lopi Alafoss Icelandic Wool Yarn. Rugged, lofty, and very warm, Lettlopi is exceptionally affordable and offers a gorgeous array of colors.

 Icelandic wool yarns are known for their warmth, breathability and water-repellency. Classic fair isle knitting looks stunning with Icelandic Lettlopi. It’s a lighter, worsted weight version of the ever popular bulky weight Alafoss Lopi. Ideal for warm and resilient garments that will stand the test of time. This softly spun 100% Icelandic wool looks like a single ply, however it is really a loosely twisted plied yarn which gives it extra strength while retaining the rustic look. Lettlopi (Lite Lopi) Icelandic Wool Yarn enjoys the unique quality of combining two types of fiber; fine, highly insulating inner fibers and longer, water-repellent outer fibers. Great for felting. Weavers will find it too softly spun for a traditional high-tension warp, however it can be used with care and it makes a great weft for blankets and throws.Lettlopi is spun in Mosfellsbaer, just outside of Reykjavik. The company is employee-owned and the animal welfare standards of Icelandic sheep farms are incredibly high. Their manufacturing uses the absolute minimum of chemicals and when we visited the factory we were truly impressed with the care put into these iconic yarns.

Gauge: 4.5 sts to 1″ US #7-8 needles; sett: tabby 5-6 epi, twill, 7-8 epi. Lettlopi (Lite Lopi) Icelandic Wool Yarn is incredibly warm so it makes great winter sweaters or mittens and scarves.
