New Issue of Ply Just In

The wait is over [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] is here! If you’re familiar with the newest handspinning magazine, Ply, we know you’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the latest issue. How could you not? The magazine is too good to be true, a handspinner’s dream. In a recent letter to the editor one reader wrote Ply is the first magazine in which she has ever used a bookmark. The comment speaks volumes.

This time around the theme is community. Essentially each article or feature highlights some aspect of community. I must admit I was a little uncertain about the theme.  Of course my worries were unfounded. In hindsight, how could I doubt this quality publication? I had failed to realize the word community is as diverse and encompassing as handspinning itself. The activity naturally promotes the sharing of passions, techniques, ideas and friendships. That means almost anything written about handspinning can fall into the “community” classification. So let me assure you, Ply Issue 6, Autumn 2014, is every bit as good as the previous issues. Get your copy today and let yourself be mesmerized.

Inside the pages you’ll find stories about different spinners and their stories, each unique and inspiring. Learn to pair your fiber to the perfect spindle. Take delight in learning about Shetland sheep and the communities supporting this breed. Get creative with art yarn. Follow Ply’s blueprint and host your own fiber event. Includes 3 great knitting patterns for Amy Herzog’s Swing Step Cardigan, Cheri McEwen’s festive Big Top Shawl and Woolly Wormhead’s Wrapped Hat.

Don’t have the back issues of Ply? Halcyon Yarn sells all the available back issues. We’re still waiting for issues 2 and 3 to be reprinted, but when they are you’ll find them here!
