Wonderful & simple weaving pattern: Peaceful Harbor Placemats
Need a little splash of color to brighten your winter days? [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] is just the ticket. These quick and easy, set of four, plain weave placemats (easily done on a rigid heddle) come alive with the interplay of variegated and solid yarns in 3 different weight. Sequin Island was the inspiration for the placemats pictured, but why stop there. On a rigid heddle you’ll find it easier to warp traditionally rather than direct from ball/cone to loom. This is because there are three warps repeated, which doesn’t lend itself to using doubles of each style.
Starting with [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] as our anchor, we set to mixing and matching to find the perfect color combinations in Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton Yarn and 3/2 Pearl Cotton Yarn to provide a wide array of color choices for these placemats. You’ll need 2 skeins of Luna Paints, 2 skeins of Ultra Pima Cotton and 2 mini cones of 3/2 Pearl Cotton. Which is your favorite? The pictured finished project colors can be found here
