A Taste of Honiton: Honiton Bobbin Lace Flower Motif to Make eBook printed copy Bobbin Lace and Tatting Book

Author: PieceWork
18 pgs. (paper, color)
ISBN number:

Learn Honiton lace through this lovely small project instruction and pattern. Honiton lace originated in Devonshire, England, in the sixteenth century, but it did not become

a noncontinuous floral lace until the seventeenth century. Over time, it evolved further with

changing grounds between the lace motifs and variations in design. Today, it is recognized as

one of Englands loveliest laces. The motifs of Honiton lace are made first and then joined together by a bobbin- or needle-made mesh or brides (guipure) or appliquéd to machine-made net. Typical motifs include roses, thistles, leaves, birds, bees, and butterflies.

This project is a small motif with a flower, leaf, and scrolled rib.

This ebook, and all of Halcyon Yarn's eBooks, are printed on acid-free coated stock, ready for immediate browsing and convenient posting next to your project.
