Make your baby look great! Our overshot woven baby bib does it in style with minimal sewing. These woven baby bibs are a beautiful and thoughtful gift for new parents – none of the hassle of hand-washing and all the charm of a handmade gift! The simple 4 shaft pattern can be treadled lots of different ways to create multiple designs on one warp.
A three yard warp makes seven finished bibs. Your warp only needs to be 9.5 " wide, making this a quick and fun project for trying out overshot. Size 8" X 11" finished. Just two mini cones Homestead Cotton (600 yds each) are enough for the tabby weave. For the colorful pattern wefts use up thrums of Pearl Cotton, Embroidery Floss, or any machine washable fingering or DK weight yarn (yarn weights 2 or 3).
The project can easily be adapted to create dish towels or a small runner by making the piece longer and weaving the overshot pattern at either end. With easy-care cottons you can throw these in the washer and dryer and they'll still look great.
