Here are a few of our newest yarns that are available in the shop and of course on our website. Check out the great colors and let yourselves conjure up some sweet projects for the fall…or for right now if you so choose.
Blackstone Tweed by Berroco Item #281
Blackstone Tweed is for the discriminating knitter. This amazingly soft yarn has all the rustic appeal of a classic tweed yarn but with a high level of mohair and angora. When you wear the garments made with this yarn you’ll feel the softness of the angora bloom to a luxury of softness. A pleasure to wear and knit.
We also have the newest pattern booklet from Berroco, featuring the Blackstone Tweed, #288. Heading up the Berroco design team, Norah Gaughan has proven again and again her creative genius in creating and implementing these designs.
Peru by Katia Item #270
[Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock]
Peru has been coined by one of our own here at Halcyon Yarn as the, “Lopi For Sissies”. We’ve put it to the test with a pattern out of “The Best Of Lopi”, and it truly is a beautiful yarn. We were looking to fill of hole in our stock with a bulky washable yarn that would be cushy and soft and viola, here it is. We’ve cast on a few items to try it out of course and it is all that we thought. Give it a try with any bulky pattern. It’ll be a fast knit for blankets, sweaters and hats.
Lastly… but certainly not least, Maine’s Own…
Swans Island Organics Item #279 Fingering & Item #280 Worsted
This yarn… exclusive to only Halcyon Yarn as of this newsletter is a wonder all in itself. Gwynn, our newest blog writer has written two pieces about this beautiful organic yarn in our “On The Needles” blog via our website. She has given a true account of this amazing yarn, along with links to the history of Swans Island blankets. We are happy to announce it’s new home here at Halcyon Yarn. Take a little bit of Maine home with you this summer.
