Beautiful New Book- Within, by Jane Richmond & Shannon Cook

A knitting book that looks great on your coffee table? Within - Knitting Patterns to Warm the Soul, can do just that!  Filled with photography that would interest even non-knitters, Within tells a story of a world I’d love to step into. The theme? Cozy wool, warm crackling fires, and just plain comfort.

This is more than just a book of patterns, but the patterns themselves are enough to draw you in. There’s the Fireside Pullover (shown below), which is knit out of Cascade Eco Wool. There are actually a couple of patterns that use Cascade Eco and Cascade Eco Plus Wool Yarn.

I was particularly drawn to this one – it’s simple and warm, and I know it’d never go out of style. I must admit, I feel like I kind of need this sweater in my own wardrobe.

If you’re more of a small project kind of person, take a peek at this Entwine Scarf (shown below).

How cool would this scarf look if you used Malabrigo Rasta Yarn? And the yarn is so bulky, this project would knit up in a flash. *Sniff, sniff*… that smells like a last minute Christmas gift to me!

Within’s photos were taken in coastal British Columbia, and it’s a fitting setting for cozy knits, not unlike where we are here in coastal Maine.  Full of rustic beauty, peace, and firelight, this book might actually make you want to have a campfire. But even if it doesn’t push you outdoors, there’s a pretty good chance it’ll make you want to knit. I know I sure want to!
