Botanical Knits – engaging and easily justified

Rarely does a knitting book come along in which you like every pattern. Let’s face it, many of us find ourselves trying to justify buying a book because we love just one or two patterns. Well, prepare yourself for an anomaly in the knitting world. The self-published Botanical Knits from knitwear designer, Alana Dakos, of Never Not Knitting is an absolute beauty.

Botanical Knits  Botanical Knits

Awesome patterns, stunning photography and stylish, flirty illustrations and graphics combine to create an artistic book worthy of any coffee table. It’s true, I could flitter away the time simply leafing through the pages, but it’s really about the knitting. So what will you find? 12 gorgeous, botanically inspired, well written patterns for sweaters, hats, mitts, socks, a cowl and  a shawl. After meticulous review I’ve yet to narrow down which pattern I’ll knit first. Although I’m heavily leaning toward the cardigan Entangled Vines knit with one of my favorite yarns, Malabrigo Merino Worsted Wool Yarn . Then again, I’m really taken with the Wrapped in Leaves shawl and already have a color in Malabrigo Silky Merino Yarn picked out. Such decisions!

Take a glimpse into the pages of Botanical Knits and see for yourself.
