You are right, the pattern has several variations, including vertical and diagonal stripes. The hat that you noted on Gwynn (w/ navy parka) has the vertical stripes, but they are subtle. Are all the hats knit exactly the same? The striping seems to vary. Love the hat colors on the woman in a navy parka, front center, prefer the straight, rather than angled ribbing shown to her right. Ms navy parka seems to have NO striping, tho. ???
IF I were to want a mainly blue/purple + ____ blend, can you select? I see Noro Iro is no longer available. Would need generous skein as am tight knitter (but would prefer not to buy more than necessary).
