Malabrigo Mecha Yarn is an excellent example of how Malabrigo’s superwash process maintains a delightful buttery softness to the yarn. This single ply bulky weight merino has a beautiful twist that accentuates its variegated colorways. Machine washable means this is a good yarn for blankets and kid’s stuff, but will work equally as well in garments and accessories for all ages.

Another great children’s knit is the Children's Bulky Top Down Pullover by Knitting Pure and Simple.  Mecha is soft enough to not be itchy, and easy washing really does make this yarn excellent for kid’s garments.  Not to mention its bulky gauge means projects work up quickly, making this a very approachable sweater for newer knitters.

Although it gives you a completely different type of scarf, you can also use Malabrigo Mecha Yarn to make the Gimme Shelter - Hooded Scarf with Pockets. My sister used Mecha to make one of these for our mother last Christmas, and it’s lovely!
